Ryan Bethune’s entry into the world of fencing wasn't a pre-planned career path but rather an opportunity that arose from a familiar face. “It was my AFL coach that offered me a job in his business,” explains Ryan. “He employs a few others from our footy team, so it felt like a natural fit for me.” What started as a job opportunity through a trusted friend quickly blossomed into a genuine passion for the trade.
“I get immense satisfaction from seeing the client's face when they see the finished product,” says Ryan. Beyond the tangible nature of the work, the allure of the outdoors is a significant draw: “I love working outdoors as opposed to being in a workshop or office environment.”
Complete Barrier Solutions, a local Bundaberg business with over 40 years of experience, provides Ryan with a diverse range of projects. Their expertise spans aluminium slat fencing, aluminium and glass pool fencing, pedestrian gates, automatic gates, aluminium balustrades, glass balustrades, and other aluminium products for both commercial and domestic clients. They also regularly install Colorbond and PVC fencing.

“On any given day, I can be installing any of these products at a domestic house or a large building site,” Ryan notes, highlighting the variety and continuous learning involved in his role.
For Ryan, the key to success in fencing lies in meticulous preparation. He credits experienced mentors for teaching him the importance of precision when it comes to problem solving.
“I like to spend a bit of time setting out and planning the fence or project. This can save you a lot of hassle in the long run.”
At Complete Barrier Solutions, quality hardware is paramount, and Ryan is well-acquainted with D&D Technologies products. “We use quite a few of the D&D products, including LokkLatch Deluxe®, LokkLatch®, Kwikfit®, MagnaLatch®, and their TruClose® adjustable hinges,” he says. His assessment is clear:
“D&D products are high quality and relatively easy to install. I like the idea of the product warranty that gives the clients peace of mind knowing the products will last the test of time.”
Ryan's boss, Andrew Scott, offers a glowing testament to his abilities:
“Imagine a colleague who embodies dedication and an unwavering desire to excel. Ryan not only meets deadlines but consistently goes the extra mile, ensuring that every task is executed to perfection. He is constantly seeking opportunities to learn and grow. Ryan's positive attitude and willingness to help others makes him an invaluable asset to our team.”
High praise indeed for a rising star in the fencing world! We look forward to seeing Ryan continue to excel and inspire in the years to come.
